These links will help kids and adults find other fun and educational activities that can relate
to the production of plays with children.

These sites have information about how to produce plays with children and about teaching
drama.
  • American Alliance for Theater and Education offers information about education
    standards, books, plays, and loads of connections to other sites and groups.
  • Pioneer Drama lists lots of children’s plays, and also features books and resources
    for teaching drama to children. Great resources for beginning play producers.
  • CES Bookstore, Creative Education Systems, has many multicultural plays and plays
    for specific occasions such as Women's History Day.
  • Plays For Kids To Do by Jimmy Brunelle offers fun, original, and smart one-act
    plays designed especially for kids to do and read. Performed by elementary, middle,
    and high schools thru college & adult. Simple sets, and very affordable.

National Standards and State Standards can be found at the following sites:
  • Education World This site, under “Resources”, shows national and state educational
    standards, as well as standards developed by specific discipline groups, such as
    those developed by the Consortium of National Arts Education Associations.  Also
    has MANY lesson plans and activities.
  • This site for the U. S. Department of Education has resources and topic activities.  
    It is hard to search, especially for a concise list of academic standards. However,
    you may find some activities of interest.  

Here are sites that have fun, educational activities for kids.
  • Teachers@Random has activities to go along with books at different reading levels.  
    You can search by discipline, time period, grade level and title.  Each search takes
    you to a list of appropriate books.  Information with the book includes author bio,
    themes in the story, vocabulary, and activities for discussion, research,
    interdisciplinary study, and further reading.  Once you get into it, rich with ideas! .
  • Kids Health is a site for kids to learn about health issues: the body, everyday
    illnesses, going to the dentist, school counselors, and health problems for adults.  It
    is also in Spanish.  Lots of games, quirky information, fun activities.
